How the Legend Began...

Every good tall tale has a beginning—and this one started with a chigger bite, a driveway full of neighbors, and a hankerin' for a little hometown fun.

Back in 2007, the Ambroson family rounded up a few friends, fired up a live band, mixed a batch of margaritas, and unknowingly kicked off what would become one of the community's favorite traditions. What started as a simple neighborhood get-together has grown year after year into the can't-miss celebration it is today.

Now held every Labor Day weekend, Chiggerfest is our annual way of tipping our hats to another unforgettable summer on the lake. It's a weekend filled with friends, family, laughter, and just the right amount of friendly competition.

Every year brings a brand-new theme that inspires everything from the official T-shirts to the Poker Run stops, golf cart decorations, and costumes. So dust off your boots and polish your belt buckle, because Chiggerfest 2026 is ridin' into town with a Wild Wild West theme. We can't wait to see all the cowboys, cowgirls, outlaws, and sheriffs who saddle up for the fun!
